The new M2 model marimba mallets feature a larger and softer core with more yarn revolutions than the M1. This gives you a much warmer, rounder and softer sound altogether. They are terrific for low register playing on 5 octave marimbas. They have just enough attack to the sound without being mushy or harsh. They can also be combined with the M1 model to create a graduated set.
